With plenty of dock space, sheltered water, and regular water taxi / float plane service to Port Hardy, Dawson's Landing is the ideal spot to start or base a sea-kayaking expedition to the Central Coast. The Bachens have lived in the area for many years, and have explored most of its nooks & crannies, so they can recommend a route and point out the local gems that only the paddling public can get to!
The rocky sided fjords of the Central Coast can be a challenge for kayakers - sandy beaches are sometimes hard to find. Don't let this stop you coming to explore the upper reaches of Rivers Inlet! There is plenty of room on the floats at Dawson's Landing to pitch a tent or two, and pull up those kayaks to get the sand out of everything!
Camping & Kayaking
Don't feel a cabin is your cup of tea, but still want off the boat for the night? Then bring a tent and pitch it on the floats! There is plenty of room, so you won't be stacked on top of your neighbour, the site is sheltered and secure, and you can feel free to make use of the rest of the facilities at Dawson's Landing, whether it's a shower, a barbecue, fishing tackle or a freezer you need to make the most of your holiday in Rivers Inlet.
